Spider indentificatio help?

I was going about my daily business and then noticed a rather cute spider above my door frame, I’ve been researching and do believe he is an E. atrica (giant house spider) but am still unsure, I would like to keep him as a pet and just need guidance, I do have a big box for him but wondering does their box need to be clear so they have light? If so I will have to buy him one also I need to know what to put down for him and a good set up for his box? Thankyou anybody who helps

You are bang on.

Unfortunately, this guy is mature and he's out on the prowl for ladies to mate with before he passes away. He wouldn't be a good choice to keep as a pet.

If you can find yourself a female, you can set them up in a big tub with a piece of wood to hide behind and some sticks or fake plants to act as webbing anchor points. They will do the rest!
