I found this guy in my room last night. He was quick! In fact, as I took my last photo and was admiring it on the camera, he took off!! So once again he's roaming my room. :D Oh well, not too concerned about that. Anyway, anyone know what this is? It's legspan was probably about an inch or so. Thanks!

It belongs in Gnaphosidae (one of the families which are commonly called ground spiders). It's not easy to tell the genus from the picture but it could be either Drassodes or Haplodrassus. And why is it a Gnaphosid? The long and well separated cylindical spinnerets and relatively narrow eye group (separate it from for example Clubionidae). And why suggesting Drassodes or Haplodrassus? Just based on habitus. A closer look at the eyes and the underside of the prosoma would give more clues.
