The zig zag and size are typical of Argiopes. I'm not sure if it can be narrowed down to the species. The Isan area has not been extensively studied. I don't even know of a specific institute. I'd suggest starting at the Khon Kaen University and go from there. They are highly focused on land development and maintenance so is likely to have a biology department studying the local animals.The web was quite large , around 1ft diameter but i did notice from where it was sat (central) there was a zig zag web in front of it for about 4 inches
