Spider changing colour underwater

Hi, yesterday I noticed a blue and orange spider just chillin on the side of the pool underwater. It was about the size of a fingernail. I tried to take a pic of it, but failed. I was surprised that when it got above the water line it changed to a brown colour. Any ideas on what type of spider it might be?

You can blame it on my asking the wrong physicist at Hale who was working on the Palomar spectrographic imager a somewhat flippant question and getting the whole nine yards from angstrom to tachyons crammed down my throat. Diffraction diffusion dispersion ad nauseum.....
