I accidentally posted this in the Tarantula forum earlier. This is where it should be!
My daughter and I were out hiking and looking for inverts yesterday. While out we found this healthy looking Crotalus oreganus helleri under a piece of tin. She looks to be female judging by her tail length and gravid as the rear portion of her body is looking plump all the way to her vent. It isn't a great picture, but she was active and I didn't have a hook with me. We didn't see any other snakes, but we did see a few centipedes, lizards, skinks, a Jerusalem cricket, and one tarantula. For pictures of the habitat and of the tarantula please see the following link.
