Anyone ever kept one of these? They are very fast and hard to catch. I see this guy several times a day sunning on these old tires behind the barn. I like to see him there, but I want to set up an old aquarium for him to. Hmmmmmm decisions, decisions.

We've kept these before. They are pretty easy. You do need a UVB light and a basking light. They will eat anything that moves that will fit in their mouth. They need to be misted or drip watered as they don't seem to understand standing water.

We set a pair up in a 40g breeder with 2 logs and two sticks. I think they are content on logs/branches as that is their coloration. We find them in NC on tree trunks and on brick walls. You should be able to keep a pair in a standard 20.

We did have a problem with the female in the pair pigging all the food. She would even chase the male to steal what he caught. We let them go after a month and then missed them enough to go catch another.

Right now, as I type, our juvenile is eyeing some mealworms.

A net is helpful to catch these. Anticipate the jump and be ready to pounce on the net to pin it down.

Melissa Kaplan's website has a caresheet on this general type of lizard.
