Something Wrong With Leopard Gecko's Eye

My leopard gecko hasn't had much of an appetite recently, but since it was winter I figured that was why he wasn't eating as much. It's warm now and he hasn't improved. He won't eat worms in front of his face. His movements seem more sluggish than normal also.

The last and most recent problem is that one of his eyes seems to have been sealed shut by his last molt. It happened last night and there seems to be a bit of old skin still attached to his face and seemingly covering his eye? I really hope that's from the molt and not something worse.

Sorry about the bad quality. He has a moist hide but when I'm very busy it occasionally dries up for a few days. No heat mat as it stays a pretty consistent 70 degrees F or so where I am.

It's alright if his humid hide dries up occasionally, although it's a good idea to try and keep it misted around shedding time.

70° is rather cold for leppies...it's alright for nighttime, but a good 80-85° (90° if a good hiding spot is available) would help with digestion. I'd suggest providing some heat (a gradient warm to cool would be best), it would probably help your gecko perk up more and increase his appetite :)

Could you get a picture of your gecko's eye? It's probably just old skin, don't worry! When my geckos have problems shedding, I put them in a humid Tupperware container (with ventilation of course) for 10-15 mins and then check on them, repeat if necessary. It helps loosen up the old skin, they seem to get it off in no time!
