Very cute- I love turtles. RES's have such beautiful colors when they are small- its a shame they start to fade out as they get older/larger.

Do you have a heat lamp for them? As well as a UVA/UVB bulb?
Also youll probably want to get a filter on there asap- turtles make their water dirty quite quickly :) Might take a while now since they are tiny- but just wait till you see the messes they start making when they hit 10+ inches ;)

Very cute RES's. If you don't have a UVB basking bulb you'll need to pick one up. Without UVB they're shell will not grow right and they will eventually die. A filter would be really good too. If you would like to put them in deeper water there is an awesome product by zoo-med called a turtle dock (Check out E-bay for a cheap one) that allows you to fill up the tank almost to the top. Here is a link. http://search.ebay.com/Zoomed-Turtle-Dock_W0QQftsZ0

Here is my little peninsula cooter Haru.

I have 6 other turtles. I use UV bulbs with all. The babies have no filtration yet as I clean it manually. My 10 inch female and her three 6 inch males are in a 40 gallon with a fluval 3plus filter, tronic 100 watt water heater and floating basking spots. I also have two 2 inch sliders. they are in a 10 gallon with a fluval 1plus, tronic 50 watt, floating island and UV bulb.

Glad to hear they have proper lighting etc. As of late we have been getting ALOT of turtles through our store- usually from people who no longer want them because they have grown too large (not even their full size yet!), are too messy (because they dont have proper filtration for them), and who in gereral are in rough shape because they are fed poor diets and not given proper lighting etc.

Its always something I worry about when I see people who have baby turtles because alot of the time the places who sell them dont seem to know what the heck they are talking about either! My favorite is "Oh they wont grow big if you keep them in a small bowl/tank" or "We had our turtle for almost an entire year! We must have been doing something right!"

I work in a petstore as well. All my turtles were either unwanted or uncared for. We get animals dumped in my store everyday. From hamsters to turtles to birds. Its sad really. I try to help as many of them as I can.

Sounds alot like where I work- all of us there have zoo's at home because we always end up giving in and taking the unwanted critters home.
