Hi I just got a sub adult (I think) Asian forest scorpion in a container with very little DRY substrate and no water so I had to get her. (Idk if it’s a male or female I’m just guessing) well
right now she’s in a
5.5 gallon bioactive tank
screen lid with 1/2 the screen in plastic wrap to help humidity.
orange and blue powder isopods
a fake log hide
a weak fogger (to be exact its the “stump fogger” but I just took out the actual fogger)
about 4 inches at least of coco fiber+ organic top soil
some leaf litter and a tiny bit of spagnum moss
a small water bowl
so is this setup ok? At least for a bit?
also second question I don’t have crickets at the moment my living situation isn’t really allowing me to keep crickets so are mealworms ok? If not anything else?
(THE BIN ON TOP WAS HER HOME IN THE SHOP)
ignore my dirty table it’s just stains
i think those are all my questions haha 0136E3C9-2564-439B-810E-60B1D21384EE.jpeg

It looks fine to me. The main things to be concerned about is the temps which 75F-85F is perfect. And the substrate should be 100% moist (clumpy not drippy). These scorpions are simple to keep and to raise.

New keepers will often overthink it and stress about ridiculous RH%s (proper temps and proper level of substrate depth and moisture level will have you covered fine).

Or new keepers will underthink it by thoughtlessly keeping these improperly in too dry of an enclosure with shallow substrate and woodchips with also a dried out waterdish and scratch their heads wondering why it didn't survive for more than a week under their care because it survived just fine similarly in the reptile shop. How easily they forget how warm and humid it is inside of that reptile shop.)
