Some kind of toad/frog/turtle

Field trip yesterday to the TN Aquarium. In the "lunchtime learning lab," there were several tanks set up and I snapped a few pictures of the occupants.

I don't know what these are, but I think they are some kind of toad.

And some kind of turtles:

I'd hazard the toads are Bufo marinus aka cane toad or giant toad, especially with the large poison glands behind the eyes. As for our chelonian friends not a clue.

I agree. Those look like giant toads. Those guys get really huge! As for the other guy some sort of tortoise. I have no clue what kind though. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that the toads could be marine or ane toads but they also have a similar body shape to the rococo toad. the next pic is definatly a tortoise, and I would say either a red foot or yellow foot tortoise. the last pic is a box turtle but I don't know what species but I might say an eastern. sorry I could not be of more help.

No tortoises, just plain old native eastern U.S. box turtles.

Eastern Box Turtles for sure. Don't know squat about frogs or toads though, from the looks of them, I'd say they're dirty toads? Or Mud-toads maybe. LOL

I'm gonna ditto the box turtles. That first one looks really "weathered"; I've never seen a male with the orange eroded off his head. Wonder if that's a function of age?

Aquarium

Did you ever get to visit the New Orleans aquarium by any chance becca?It's the best one i've ever been to.It and the audobaun(sp?)zoo were amazing.I went a couple weeks before katrina,(my second time ever),and NO's demise :8o
I heard they moved most/all of the animals out of the zoo and sent them to other zoos temporarily until they could return,but i heard the aquarium just got flooded?!?If thats true,then it sucks.The albino gator,and anaconda there were a sight to see.
