Some frog questions...

So, Pyxicephalus adspersus is almost the perfect frog. It eats voraciously, looks awesome, is active, gets huge (although not so much a requirement on my part), and is terrestrial/semi-semi-aquatic. (It'll wade in water and has some swimming ability, although limited) However, it's next to impossible to breed in captivity since the only known method involves hormones.
Now, one of my main interest in keeping animals is to eventually breed them. It seriously bugs me when this cannot be done. So instead, I'm looking for the next best thing. A frog that is active, good eater, terrestrial with some swimming ability, and is at least chubby. (should size matter) Pacman frogs are perfect, although they have basically switched activity with breeding ability in pixie frogs. However, more looking around has found that Chubby Frogs (also known as the asian bullfrog) may be what I'm looking for. With some artificial rain system, it seems I could breed them in captivity. They seem terrestrial, although they probably plop down and wade in the water as well. (which is also something I like, yes) I've also heard that they can have an appetite. I don't really care too much for size- anything that's not too small, I can like it.
So, what do you all think? Is the chubby frog what I'm looking for? Is there another frog that'll fit my criteria? I'm really hoping that there is a frog that'll fit my bill, and I'm currently betting on chubby frogs...

What about all the other animals you're thinking of getting? You can't seem to make up your mind about what to get next. If that's the case, don't get any more animals.

Also, who said pixies are active????

What all critters do you own right now?
I'm producing a wishlist and contemplating which I should actually get. Parents are holding me out too long. :(
Other than that, I have some new tadpoles and some madagascan hissing roaches.

Honestly, I just want to make some wise choices so I don't screw up. I'm supposed to be getting a few(mostly inverts) animals soon.
Nonetheless, I'm basically just asking about some animals so I know what exactly to get now and what to get next. As of recent, Google sucks at getting relevant results. Sorry if I seem to be bombarding you all with questions.

Trust me, either way you go, there is a good chance that you will grow out of it. Like say if you get certain tarantulas, you might later down the road not want those species, and find yourself so to say in the hobby. Like a long time ago, i was into reptiles, got mostly out of them now. I started out with certain species of tarantulas, and moved away from those. Had kept certain bugs, moved away from those. Not saying this will happen, but its 50/50. Best thing you can do man, is find the first thing you like, research up, get it, and enjoy.

Trust me, if you knew me, you would know I'd practically want everything. I just want more and more when I learn about other exotics.
After all, I want to make Zoo Tycoon a reality. ;) Though I'll also say this, I'm not going to be impulsive. I'll only get more animals if I can handle the current ones I have. (which, by the way, is currently almost nothing)

This as always been a thing of mine. I've always loved having an exotic "pet". I never grew out of this. I'm practically born for animals, which is why I not only want to be a breeder, but a vet.

ANYWAY, I'd like some post more relevant to the question. :)

It doesn't matter that you can care for the ones you have now, you have to know that you can care for the ones you are about to acquire. If you still live at home, I highly, highly, highly recommend not getting anything else. Do you know how hard it is to find an apartment where you can keep exotics, and if you move into a dorm you can forget about it.

... All I have are tadpoles and hissing roaches, none which I am permanently keeping. (except maybe one or two toads when the tads mature)
I'm still looking to get my first (exotic) herp. I believe I can handle anything recommended for the beginner or novice.

Where are you rehoming all of those tadpoles you collected? What will you do if you can't find homes for all of them?
What will you do with your herp when you move out?

I can release some outside, but most are going to my biology teacher.
I'm probably going to keep one or two.
Edit: Not quite sure what the future has in store for me. I might move into an apartment, or I might stay here at my parent's house while I continue going to school.
Now, I'd like some answers more relevant to the topic. I'm sure a hell of a lot of children older and younger than me have owned at least one herp. What makes me different? I have a friend who has two uromastyx and a (ball) python, while another friend of mine breeds lizards and snakes, and has a room for a bird. All of who, are in high school.
I don't plan on collecting an entire zoo, but I do plan on owning at least a few herps.

Look into dart frogs, the larger species breed quite readily, look awesome, and are active during the day (My azureus will stop foraging and look at me with hands against the glass when I'm near the tank, wondering if I'm going to feed them). My favorite animals by far at the moment for display at least.

That's great, I just think you should be thinking about what you're going to do with these animals in a few years.
That being said, I LOVE my albino bullfrog. Fun to watch, eats everything, GREAT color.

Not only is it a just plain bad idea ( possible transmission of disease) to release animals that have been in captivity for any length of time in most states it is illegal as well. If you can't keep you should never have collected them.

I have plans for them. Any discussion on this further is irrelevant and belongs in this topic.

You made it relevent by mentioning the possiblity of releasing some of them, regardless it is a bad idea and probably not legal in your area.
