I caught it and flushed the little bastard down th toilet. They cant escape the container I built, but when I clean it I always loose one or 2 run up my arm jump off and its gone. I put sticky traps along all my walls in there and usually thats where I fine the escapees. But now I have to convince her that these will not infest our house if a couple get out. Heck I have a hard enough time getting the ooths to hatch in an incubator.

Any tips?

I have the same problem. That's why I wasn't "allowed"(allowed as in she's happy enough to deal with) to become a breeder. She doesn't like roaches. Now that I don't have many, she's a lot more relaxed about it. But she didn't even want to sit in my room with me because of them and would make a big deal about everyone she found. What do you do? I'm riding to cali. Good luck to you though!

That happened to me last week my nephew had one run up his leg in my T room and he ran down the hall screaming.

My kids and my husband found hisser nymphs in a bedroom and on the bathroom floor once and I was in the proverbial doghouse for a while! Needless to say, the roaches got a better container, and hubby has NO IDEA how many roaches are in my colonies NOW!!

Haha! This is why my guy won't let me get roaches... even though I actually want them as pets not feeders, and used to have 6 different species back when I lived with my mother still.

He freaks out if he sees a spider, he instantly thinks it's one of mine, heh.

Ha! that's me too. I'm the one that started the spider hobby, and it took him about 6 months to finally want his own (though he's still scared of them) and he refused to let me have a feeder colony, roaches creep him out too much. (Strange when you think about it, being that roaches and crickets are actually very similar)

How do all of us hobbyists end up with partners that don't like our pets or their feeders? It seems like half or more of the people on AB have pet "issues" with their partners.

Maybe we should have an arachno-roach loving Match-making service?

Then we could roach out till our hearts are content!

Can you imagine? I find a roach and instead of you getting in trouble, we can celebrate! Hahaha

*well, maybe not me, I need a break from "partners", but I bet there is someone on here who will love you and your roaches!

Seriously though, I'm never going to be with a woman scared of roaches again. How do you work that on facebook? So, do you like cockroaches?
hehe
