A 3 inch Malaysian Earth Tiger (Cyriopagopus thorelli). A juvy, I believe. The funniest part? At SuperPetz in Nashville, they have two different types of T's. The Chilean Rose Hair... and then assorted tarantulas. Hah.

I don't think C. thorelli is in the hobby, I thought that it was C. schioedtei, some were just selling them as C. thorelli. Great find though!!! I've got a 3"-4" juvi female. She's not showing quite so much black yet and her carapace looks a little warn in the center, but I think she's coming up on a molt she's sealed herself up in her hide. she's a real jewel, I absolutely love her.

Nice find!! I've bought one of their assorted T's. It was a Haplopelma sp. vietnam ?. At first they said it was a rose hair and I busted out laughing. I couldn't help myself. I then went on about what it really was and how unlike a rose hair they are. I check every couple a months, but that's all I ever see. I'm glad you lucked out.

Pet Stores - T Sales

I have heard many say, that they would never buy from stores like this....

I have aquired in the past some RARE Sp. of WC T's......At low prices.....
Sometimes take a look when your goin to get dog food or coco/moss, etc.

Looks just like Jon Fouskaris spider. As mentioned above the spider in the hobby preaviously know as C. thorelli is now sold as C. schioedtei. The only other two Cyriopagopus sp, that are sometimes seen in petstores (and reptile importers at expos) are....

1.Cyriopagopus sp. "blue" witch is now Lampropelma violaceopes, or

2.Cyriopagopus paganus witch is most likley a Haplopelma sp.

A picture of the real spider in question would help narrow it down to a "better guess".

Later, Tom

Oh no, I just picked the first general photo of the T I could find. I plan on taking a picture, but my whopping 2 megapixels booming from my iPhone will only show so much detail. But I'll post it anyway, soon.

Great find! I love it when that happens.

I dunno though, I think you're breaking some kind of rule posting somebody elses picture. A mod's going to come along sooner or later and remove it. Intellectual property rights and all that...
