So are box elder bugs resilient or does my kill jar just stink?

I've had a box elder bug in my kill jar since around 12 or 12:30. It is now 4:40, and it's still alive! I still caught a whiff of the ehyl acetate I put in there back in January(It's setup with the plaster of paris on the bottom, dumping the ethyl acetate in, letting the plaster absorb and all that good jazz). My question is, do I need to "recharge" my jar or is this box elder bug the Chuck Norris of the insect world???

It might smell but th e actual killing power of the jar is weaken by a good amount.

Always recharge a small amount everytime you catch something new that's what I always do.

yea my professor was telling me it's that as well as them. apparently, in overwinter mode they keep their spiracles shut most of the time. they ARE the chuck norris or insects!!!
