hi im running outta room for my Ts and wondered whether a snake hatchling rack system is the answer?obviously only for my terrestrial spiders.any1 else know anything bout if they work?or even if they use em?thanx
I've often thought that and I think it would if you have room for it, just make sure there is proper ventilation and enough room for the burrowers to hide. Of course, you accomplish probably the same thing with a self-built shelf and some enclosures that would make the most efficient use of space. Good luck and let us know how it looks if you decide to go for it!
i use a "high density", lower waste system you might be interested in
i have plastic "garage" racks up to my ceiling in my bed room, and each rack has two large totes on it
inside the totes i can stack tons of tupperware with no risk of it falling.
once i velcro strap the totes in i'm pretty much good to go in an earthquake
i'll take pics soonish, but i reckon you get what i'm saying
oh duh, here is my older setup, but it shows racks and totes
here is the rack i use, but before i binned everything into totes. notice all the waste volume
here is a tote in the upper left hand side
i have like 200-300 bugs and a number of feeder colonies, with room for more
oh and i SHARE a bedroom in a crummy little apartment with my brother...
without a lot of modifying, i don't really think those snake racks are going to work all that good
I use an old snake rack system for my Ts. I was into snake husbandry for many years and switched to Ts about 5 years ago. I use the racks and they have worked well. They are thermastatically controlled so I can keep the temps where needed.
