I've found that one trick to wildlife photos is that it's much more interesting when down to eye-level with the subject...

Awesome composition on all of them. I like the depth of field with the first shot of the green one.

With natives like that, I'd have a hard time leaving the field.

Snakes are a difficult find for me. Few and far between. This was the most recent, a Long-nosed Snake (Rhinocheilus lecontei) on the road:



I usually only have the opportunity to photograph my own.

anubis, is the red stuff on the carpets nose from keeping it too humid? or some kind of weird mites? or scabbs?

other then that, great photos everyone :)

If I'm right the red stuff on the pythons nose is the reflection of the red light also on its back.

Yeah, it's just the reflection from his red heat lamp. He's a healthy snake in all respects.

Yeah, it's just the reflection from his red heat lamp. He's a healthy snake in all respects.
yay reflection!!! makes me happy, good to know he's healthy :)

Caught a cottonmouth tonight ( Agkistrodon piscivorus ) so I should be getting some photos of it in the lightbox here real soon
