Hey I caught this snake here in Phoenix and I dont know what it is, any of you familiar w/it?, how big it gets, what it eats, Ect....., if you can help please do, thanks, B.

It looks like a tantilla species to me, althoug more red than most I've seen. I believe there are several species in the southwest, so I can't get more specific than that. Hope this helps narrow the search, anyway.

Lelle is right Sonora semiannulata 100%

They eat bugs so if you feed it crickets it should do ok. Make sure it always has water as they dehydrate fast. No one knows how long they live, at least i dont they always end up food for another snake when i get them.
