I guess they were conserned that the snake might have eaten a person? I felt sorry for the snake, the people pestering it till it pukes so it can get away. Its sad because he lost his whole meal and will have to go looking for something else now. Unless they kill it, which wouldn't surprise me. Must have been a very young hippo.

The video won't play for me.

I agree I think they should have just let it be. I guess they might have thought it could have eaten a person but its girth looked to large for it to have been a human that it consumed.

Poor snake was just doing what it does best. It was interesting but I would have preferred that they just leave it alone.

Poor snake, the colouration does appear to be that of an anaconda and I would hardly think it would be on the same side of the world as a hippo, a capibara or tapir perhaps, its also of poor quality so can't get to see the animal it regurgs properly.

Well....being that the snake is a Green Anaconda and that the video is in Spanish, one can be fairly certain the animal being regurgitated is indeed a Tapir.

END OF THE WORLD!! I know. hehe

Here's a rough translation of what the person is saying:
"This young anaconda of 6 meters, Appeard in the Camen River, in the Region of Araraca in the State of Sao Paulo. She managed to exit the water, but it could not move further because of the massive weight and volume of the larger part of its body. She felt threatened and tried to defend itself, she wanted to escape but could not, so she was prompted to expel the heavy load she was carying. Nothing in nature would let this animal escape without help."

If it had been a person, theres nothing anyone could do besides notify the family. Myself, I'd rather think my cousin ran away rather than hear he became a meal. But that's just me. maybe I'm just morbid.

I personally wouldn't want to see a person being reguritated by a large snake.
I still feel bad for the snake losing its lunch. Yeah, it could very well be a tapir
since they are whats available there.

Whatever it was that the snake ate, wouldn't it have regurgitated it anyway? It looked much to big for the snake to have eaten. I've been told that ball pythons and boas will regurge food that is to large. Do anacondas do that as well?

There are no hippos in South America, which is where Anacondas live, except in zoos. The site is in Portuguese, which is the official language of Brazil, and the animal is a tapir, NOT a hippo! A newborn hippo weighs more than most large anacondas, and an adult is the second heaviest land animal, after the elephant. Hippos are also VERY aggresive animals, so much so that even Nile Crocs leave them alone.

Mina,
The snake regurged because it was being harrased. This is a survival strategy snakes use. They are too slow on a full stomach and regurge to become lighter and more easily escape or defend themselves from predators. Had the anaconda been left alone, it would have sought out a quiet spot to digest its meal.

Of course there are other reasons why snakes regurge.

This is totally off topic but interesting. There are hippos living and breeding in Columbia. They were part of Pablo Escobar's zoo. The animals escaped a while after he was killed. They now roam free on his former property.
