Nice pics, thanks. Are most or maybe even all of these African snails?
Most of them are, Lignus intertinctus and Archachatina ventricosa are from the Ivory Coast and the unknown Archachatina are from Nigeria.
The other 2 species, Megalobulimus oblongus haemastomus and Austroborus lutescens, are from Uruguay.

The first two pictures are of Lignus intertinctus, I have 6 adults, 3 have shell's like that of the one in the 1st pic, 2 have darker shells, and one has no pattern, the one in the 2nd pic. They've laid eggs recently, so im hoping they hatch. Lignus intertinctus are unusual in that they have very long bodies, much longer and narrow than most other African snails for they're shell size, this picture show's how long they're bodies are.

OK. Those big snails seem like they'd be relaxing to watch. A kind of different entertainment than the centipedes, scorps and T's and, they look tasty:drool: So if you had too many...hehe. People have pet cows too! The first one IS pretty cool.

WOW! I think those are about the cutest things I have seen in a long time! How long have you been keeping them?

WOW!!! That is a long body!!!! Man they really are nice! So do they spend a lot of time hanging from the top or sides of their cages?Or do they stay more on the ground? What is the biggest you have? Those snails are so SO nice!! :worship: :worship:  Thanks for sharing the pics!!

Concerning Lignus intertinctus, I wonder why it's body is so long. It makes me wonder if it serves some purpose in the wild. Like reaching inside something that it's shell won't fit past... something like that..? Pretty interesting.

They spend nearly all they're time on the roof of they're tank, or on the branches they have in with them, they are very active for snails though, they are active at day and night, they wont eat food off of the ground, so I tie pieces of cucumber to the branches in they're tank, they may only go to the ground to lay they're eggs, they bury they're eggs under the substrate. Did you mean the largest Lignus or snail overall? the largest Lignus I have is probably around 5-6cm shell length, with a body length double or treble the shell size, the largest snail is one of my Achatina achatina, tiger snails, I have 3 with shells around 18cm or so.

Maybe, the long body must serve some sort of purpose, before I got them I could only find very limited information on them though, so im not sure why they're body needs to be that long.
