Smoking Pellets for Flake Soil

Hey everyone,
Am I able to use oak pellets for flake soil for beetle breeding and larvae? If so, any tips or good recipes? Any good brands of pellets you have used before?
Picture is of one one my Dynastes grantii grub.

Traeger oak wood pellets, 20# bag. It's good stuff and works very well for flake soil. @Ratmosphere has posted some good recipes before, I'd check out his flake soil recipes, there is a link to his videos making it in this thread.
