So, I know you all do it. Just curious as to everyone's favorite roach smell. Personally mine is B. Giganteus. It's kind of a roasted garlic smell. I'd make a poll, but there are too many choices.

Okay, I don't smell my cockroaches, mainly 'causer they don't smell too much, not the ones I have any way. But one of my favourite child hood smells is the smell of Extatasoma tiaratum stick insects. I haven't kept them for years but I can still remember the smell, quite sweet. If any one here keeps them I'm sure they'll know what I mean.

My roaches smell gooood..

Now this is a subject that i can get into.
For those of us in the world who are nose conscious i call it, we pick up on the faintest of smells, and i can tell you exactley what every species of roach i cary smells like, from the smallest to the largest species.
Lets see i would have to agree with the original post and say that the B. Giganteous are by far the sweetest smelling roach in my collection.
I tell people if they want to see if there roaches are true giganteous that they should smell them, pure bred ones smell like sandlewood and black pepper. Thats the true mark of the Giant cave roach. Other roaches that have a nice smell are the Loboptera Bulgaria and the Dubia, which smell like soft leather.
I know i may sound a bit freaky but my nose is very sensative and when eber i walk into my house i can tell if a man or wamon was there, how long ago and exactley what perfume or cologne they are wearing, i can identify the ingredients in most foods by smelling it and i can tell when my wife is ....lets say "in the mood" all by smell.

Well, sometimes a guy gets too much spare time on his hands, and gets bored and curious... Ever smell your Ts? Ts got a nice, sweet-ish smell, too.

Hmmm......my dubias give off a very faint odor that smells somewhat like honey to me........my lateralis seem to smell kinda like moldy apples....(yuck) & when I disturb them to get some feeders, they get even more stinky......and.......NO......I don't leave food in there till it's moldy..... :D
