I'm not kidding, he matured a little bit ago and I didn't know until today and he's small. His size is so small I couldn't believe it, his father that I've raised from sling to mature was around 4.5''-4.75'' as a mature male. But this little one is only around 3'' maybe 3.5'' with a bit of a stretch. He's so tiny, I was beyond astonished. I'd thought that my mature male A. geniculata I showed in my other thread was small, but this is so drastically small in comparison. Now I don't like or recommend handling, but he's so small I had to put on my thumb to show a comparison on how little he truly is. This is something you have to see to believe. As you can see he barely passes over my thumb in size.

1.0.0 Mature Male Caribena versicolor 3'' (Maybe 3.5'') on my thumb.

But how do we know you don’t have big hands and you’re thumb is 5”? 😆

Amazing looking! If you pair him you going to be super nervous?

Variation as you know

Honestly can’t tell he’s small

Ruler is best 😉

My hands are exactly 7'' in length. My thumb is just about 2.5'' and he passes it, but is still very small. As for breeding, I have no idea what I'm going to do with him at the moment. He's so small, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets eaten during a pairing.

Great idea the next time I can get him out for a proper measure.

If you breed him he's gonna have it easy, with that size he can squeeze to any position to do its job

Actually, it can be quite difficult for a small male to keep both the fangs aside with his tibial hooks and to deliver the payload with his pedipalps at the same time.

Wow. I would quit drinking the water at your house.
I might personally practice some selective breeding and not pair this guy. I'm not sure I would have the "small" gene passed on.

I would :smug: !! I would love a smaller C. versicolor, I am wondering whhat is going to happen with my versicolor its been 16-17 months since 2i with regualar molts and its only at thhhe 2in mark and still blue, I want to breed this guy/gal. But im not sure that size really comes out of breeding anyways, ive never seen that it makes a difference some just mature out different sizes and ive never noticed progeny being affected by it?

I finally have some spare time to get a measure today and I would say that he's probably 3.75'' if fully stretched. But this position is the best I could get him into for a size measurement.

@viper69 Here are the measurements you've been asking for. I hope this gives a better insight. :)

You know my MM wasn't much larger. Nice thing about versi males is they are still pretty. Mine had way more purple than yours - at least in the pic.
