This little one was sold as an AFS but its coloration and claw size make me feel otherwise, is this something else or am I thinking wrong and it is an asian forest?
(I'm aware it shouldn't be handled and it was only picked up while rehousing once)
It's about an inch long. I'm not sure the instar since I'm relatively new to this hobby.

They get darker and their pedipalps more bulky as they grow. This is a normal look for a young Asian forest. Looks like i3.
However, any species specific characteristics are only clearly visible after a few more molts, so it could be any Heterometrinae or Pandininae species at this point. Post again after a few molts if you want to know the exact species. Was it simply sold as AFS or did you get a scientific name?

How did you narrow it down to a "thai forest scorpion" without a scientific name?
