What's the best way to control a small break out?

Here's one i took off my cat a few days ago,
Scary looking thing

I've been looking through Bugguide, i think this might be an Ctenocephalides felis since they are known as cat fleas.

My partner regularly sprays his cats because allthough the rest of the neighbourhood is fine his cats seem to be the flea magnets. And ticks too. He sprays not just against fleas but every horror suburban Dusseldorf can provide.

I have to say that flea is very cute... :D

When I Flo (my partner) him I'll ask what he uses.

Find and use something that is swift and efficient. Fleas are very dangerous cause they can carry some serious diseases.

Materials avail from a Vet. will help get the situation under control quickly. They include and Insect Growth Regulator, which results in sterile fleas. Have the cat treated as soon as you can, as it will take up to 30 days to eliminate all the fleas.

In addition to doing the treatments, vacuum the heck out of the affected areas. The pupae are generally resistant to the chemicals. The vacuuming will cause them to hatch out and come in contact with the chemicals. After the cleaning immediately discard the bag or empty the collection cup.

just remember fleas are insects as are any roaches you might keep and ticks are arachnids as are any spiders or scorpions (or (tailless) whip scorpions or solpugids) and what is effective against fleas and ticks might be effective against your pets or feeders

One thing I find out about fleas and keeping cats/dogs is that the kinds on your pets actually prefer feeding ON ur pets. If they start biting you, its sort of a last resort. They don't favor humans as much.

If you have an outbreak you need to spray the carpet and give the cat something like advantage...which I find to be pretty affective.

There might be other medication thats probably better yet since its been years since I used advantage. Ask your vet!

You should be afraid if your pet happens to be gone for awhile, thats when the fleas will really attack you because they wont have ur pet to suck on and therefore have to rely on you. Take ur cat away for 2 days and you'll know what I mean....nasty vermins....

Its extremely hard to completely get rid of fleas, some ppl have a bigger issue with fleas more than others. Like my gf, she doesn't seem to have flea problems, but I did. LOTS of them.

When I was little, I had some cats in the basement. The strays moved on when they grew up but the fleas didn't know. So one day, while wearing white sweats, I went down to the basement to get stuff. When I got up to my house and looked at my pants, it was like I was wearing white sweats with black pokadots.....

I cautiously peeled my clothes off and submerged it into boiling hot water. Completely disgusting I freaken hate fleas....
