Hi all!
I just thought I would share a few pics of my new slugs and their babies. I'm hoping someone here might know what species they are. They're from California but may be one of the species that came from Europe. They're about 3" and have a bumpy spotty pattern on them. The mantle has a swirl texture to it. I was excited to see the eggs develop. Since they were clear, I got to see the little slugs grow and move around in the egg. It was really interesting.

Here are the eggs:

Great series of photos:clap: I especially love the photos of the eggs:D
I never realized the scope of the invertebrate hobby until I joined this forum.
The slugs that I found incredible were the banana slugs:drool: I used to see in Washington state.

Thanks. I have some banana slugs too. They just laid a huge batch of eggs and I can't wait to see what the babies look like. The eggs are a milky white color. I went on vacation for a week and came back to 3 big batches of eggs. I hope to get some different color morphs like spotty, green or brown. Most of the adults I have are plain yellow color.

These guys mated for a whole week. I was sure they were stuck but they finally separated.

Great photo's, the slugs in the 1st post are Limax flavus, and are native to the UK, and Europe, theyre probably introduced to California, I dont think theyre native there.

The Banana Slugs look like Ariolimax dolichophallus.

Nice crystal slug ball. Here in Tx, there is a sp very similar looking to the one you have pictured. Hard to wash the slim off.
