What's the longest period for your sling, when it refuse to take the food? Let me know. Is it okay as long as their abdomen is still normal?

Well, it depends on your slings abdomen. Would need pictures.

In general, if a sling wont take live prey anymore, if it is size appropriate, and wont take prekill either, and has a large abdomen vs carapace size, it means premolt.

But thats considering everything else is going well, including general husbandry for species needs.

They're still fat
fat or not, 1/2 inch sling wow. Thats like a forever time. I would expect that from over an inch size. Now i know it can happen with very tiny tarantulings.

i am never feeding my slings again.

My 3cm DLS G.pulchra refused food for about 13 months and took nearly 2 years to molt. They finally molted for me last week. Her abdomen was fat (my fault for over feeding), she had water, and i offered pre killed food every week. Shes still fat even after her molt!

If They don't Feed ... Remove Prey Item after a bit ... and Fill the Water Dish.

I've had B. albiceps slings go over a year without food....and throughout the entire molt cycle only eat one or two small meals.

If you set up a sling just right you can see them on the side in their burrow. After months over end I just made a hole down to the burrow and dropped a pre-killed small mealworm for my 1.5 inch A. bicoloratum and it ate it. Afterwards it sealed the hole I made, rinse repeat until it refuses it.
