I have a curly hair sling (my first tarantula so I'm quite nervous at whether I'm doing everything right!). I have a fake skull in the terrarium and she's squashed herself vertically between the skull and the glass- is she ok/should I move the skull?
Also, does her abdomen look bloated or am I just paranoid lol 15830571955545367735258767050918.jpg

If I’m correct, a large abdomen is a sign of good health, like being well fed/fat. Don’t worry about the abdomen I’d say. As far as it wedging itself there...tarantulas like to hide, and sometimes that can mean them squeezing themselves into small spaces in order to feel safe. I wouldn’t worry about it, unless it hasn’t moved from there in a long time, they should also wander and look for food, especially in the darkness. They are nocturnal!

I would not have that heavy skull resting on top of the substrate, in case the spider burrows under it. Heavy items should sit on the bottom and have the substrate put in around them.
They will squeeze themselves into very tight places - that's their nature. It is also their nature to eat everything available to them, until they are full and fat, and then fast until they moult. They are opportunistic hunters. If you put them on a feeding schedule that provides them with smaller amounts of food over a more extended period, then you might see a reduction in fasting times before moulting.

The enclosure looks too big among other things. Check out Tom Moran's husbandry vids on youtube.
