Did it to the meal worm I gave it yesterday, does this hint at future temperament? Maybe it was just scared? idk...

Dono but my smallest lp showed a threat pose when I dropped a super worm in it’s about 3-4”.. so I’d say yes ! The worm scared it ! Juvenile but still sling colors .

Hi all
I still remember one of my 1cm slings treat posing me for first time.
It was cute and memorable proud dad moment. It was D diamantinensis sling.

No it doesn't mean anything other that it was startled. It does not indicate much more than that.
Yeah like people claiming spiders are agressive while poking and prodding them .. when it’s the keeper being aggressive haha   .. and yea they do it for views often . I’ve never had a spider be anything but defensive, .. it’s like stay off my lawn with its threat pose . !!

No doubt there. I've seen enough videos of people deliberately antagonizing their tarantula/s to get a threat pose or threat pose to charge and bite. Then say 'OMG....did you see that?'.

I'm like yeah idiot it was clearly from you screwing around with your T.

I've seen some guy free handling a wild H. maculata before it jumped off his hand to escape. Lucky dipstick didn't get bit. I hope the H. Mac was ok, don't know. The list goes on.

It is these type of people that give T Keeping a bad name for the rest of us.

My .75” Chilobrachys sp South Thai Blue did this to me while unboxing. Once it settled into its enclosure it’s been smooth sailing. It just bolts back into its burrow when I open the vial. We will see how defensive they are in a few months when I rehouse them 🤣

Yup, my P. irminia sling gave me one good threat pose before it built up a tiny web fortress behind its tiny chunk of cork bark:

Once it had a place to hide, no more threat poses, it just....hid. I'd say it bolted for its hide, but it's more like it never actually left it more than just hunting legs...

There is, however, a whole thread dedicated to sling threat poses too:
