In terms of body length not counting the tail, they are similar ranging from 8"-10" for adults. But guinea pigs weigh 2 to 3 times more. An extremely large rat (based o what would raise in the lab would be 500g), guinea pigs on average weigh 1kg.

Is this for snake feeding purposes?

Yes it will be because I vary all my snakes diets.

The body diameter of guinea pig is much bigger that that of a rat about 2X roughly. This may or may not be larger than your snake can get down comfortably, considering that old rule of thumb that the prey item should not be wider than twice the width of the head. Also it being live is still no guarantee your snake will eat it. Just things to keep in mind.

Though if all works out for you, great.

My boa loves guinea pigs. I think they are about the same size except guinea pigs are usually fatter, which is actually better for the snake. But i switch my boa off from rat to guinea pig every other week
