I was considering getting a Six Spotted Fishing Spider but I need to know what I'd need to take care of it, is it even a good idea to keep one? I assume (taking into consideration their habitat) that they'd need enough water to swim in and water plants to hang onto to rest. I also assume they'd need clean water so I'd need to take out any waste and uneaten food. How big would their enclosure need to be? I'm also assuming that they'd need like a standard fish tank to hold the water.

I guess I'll post haha. Were talking about D. triton right?
Any who, we have these right in my backyard and I went outside looking in creeks, flipped up a board and voila a large female.
My setup right now is easy, I probably over did it but it works.
I have about 1 inch of cocofiber, a VERY large water bowl that is about 2.5-3 inches deep, and vertical pieces of slate to climb and possibly molt on.
I went were I found it and caught a few aquatic things. About 3 minnows, and 2 salamanders.
There hunting behaviors are amazing.
It sits on the edge of the surface with its front pairs of legs in the water waiting for a vibration.
It dove under and caught a fish. The next day, an aquatic salamander. It isn't too hard of care.

Thank you very much for the info! I didn't think of just giving a big and deep water dish, I thought they would need like a ton of water. But a water dish would be easier to clean up after. I'll see if I am allowed to get one, just gotta make sure I can care for it properly first.
