Syd, my african grey, is so silly! She refuses to sleep in her cage, she must be with me at all times when I am home, so naturally she sleeps in the bedroom. She sleeps on a shower perch stuck to the mirror of the dresser. Well, countless times she has undone the suckers by picking at them and at 3am we have a scared butt bird flying (sort of, her wings are clipped) to the floor and a perch hanging catty whompus on the mirror. So, I went out, spent a ton of money, to get her a nice playstand to sleep on. Ha ha ha yeah right. While putting it together, I realized 2 things, it was too shiny for her liking, and the dishes were stainless steel, again, not to her liking, she likes ceramic crocks. Blasted me. So it went like this last night before bed, put her on the play stand, she flies off, put her on the playstand, she flies off, put her on the playstand, she flies off. Remove one of the dishes, put her on the playstand, she flies off. Give up get tired, put her on her normal perch, everyone goes to bed. 3am she unsticks herself, scared bird flies across the room, scared mom sits straight up in bed, sticks perch back, put Syd there, everyone goes back to sleep.

I will keep trying to get her used to it, poor Syd, I just have to screw things up by buying her nice shiny things.

Chris

I know what you mean, I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, but they will grow up, Syd will remain the same....LOL. Which suits me just fine. I tried again last night, she won again.
