So, my juvinile R. ciliatus is worrying me. I've been at school and the family has been careing for them but well, I'm home for spring break right now and the girl was in the bottom of the hide (the coldest part of the tank). when I took her out to examine her she seemed like she was having trouble moving. Like she had lost motor control and I could tell that she had not been eating enough and seemed a bit dehydrated but not very badly, Her gut has nothing in it, that I know. I gave her a light hopeing that she was just cold but now she is a bit more active when I check her out but she still seems to have little motor control and it seems as if climbing is a struggle for her. I'm planning on taking her to a vet this week before I head back to school, but what do you guys have to say?

Give her lots of water, try some babyfood on your finger. Be sure to get her warm! If she dosent want to eat you might have to force it. Its only her best interests. Make sure to put vitamins and calcium on EVERYTHING she eats. Take her to a vet as soon as you can.

What temps are you getting in your enclosure? Rhacs need cooler temps than most other herps. Perhaps it's in the coldest spot of the enclosure for a reason...

Oh I'm fully aware of their temp requirements. Actually that is why I'm so worried. Almost every other sick herp I've ever had has just needed some tetracycline and a crank of the temp. I've got her separated in an ICU and she has had a few licks of vitamine enriched baby food, and plenty of water to drink. I increased her ambient temp too just to get things rolling in her. I don't want to be too optimistic but today when I took her into my hands to check her condition she had much more grip[ing power in her toes and evern moved with much less difficulty. Here is to hoping that things only get better.
