I found plenty of adult care information but I just got one that's a 1/4 " at best. I have hydei fruit flies but they look to big and would just climb the sides of the vial. Can I use confused flour beetle larva? I read adults should be fed only once a month. Is this also true for slings?

I think if you’re going to use confused flour beetle larva, make sure that it’s still moving so that the spider can detect it. The greatest difficulty is probably ensuring that the spider can still detect it while also somehow preventing the flour beetle larva from burrowing away (not a problem if your enclosure is small and shallow enough though). In the wild, Sicarus eat like maybe twice a year sometimes, but usually people feed slings in general about twice as often as they do adults, so that’s the rule I generally follow. However, you should monitor the abdomen and if it’s getting fat, just don’t feed it and don’t be surprised if it refuses food.

I was beginning to wonder if I would get an answer. They tiny guy took the flower beetle larva. Now he looks a little plump. So caring for the sling is the same as an adult? Is feeding once a month to much?

That’s good! I would try once a month but in two weeks if its abdomen is smaller than its carapace then feed again.
