Should I cover the enclosure to limit lighting?

I read in another thread about a person covering up the enclosure and then being able to see their scorpion much more often. I suspect my Asian Forest scorpion has buried itself somewhere and I cannot find it, I will avoid disturbing it but can I keep the habitat covered with a thin blanket or towel? My house is very active and I don't want the scorpion to shy away because of the activity.

I use a heat lamp (red bulb) on one side of the enclosure to keep the habitat heated, can I keep the lamp on top of a blanket or would that limit its ability to keep the tank warm? I have a heat pad I could use but I've never used one before and I don't wanna mess anything up.

I will add, the enclosure has a screen top. Moisture has been escaping easily. I mist the enclosure to keep on top of humidity but I do not want to obscure the ventilation completely either, is it possible to get around this?

Red lamps does not disturb scorpions at all. Pour water directly into the substrate. Keep all of the substrate 100% semi-moist.

It could take weeks for a cage to dry out if you soak the lower levels I would use Saran Wrap cling edition when my Phampho was premolt . But I generally leave just screen wide open not closed at all. They can’t see red lights.
