My little tadpoles seem to have bee doing well, but tonight when I checked on them to feed them, they were very pale(one moreso than the other). Up until tonight they have been nearly black. I know if my betta or loach get stressed they turn very pale and gray. They were still pretty active, though the paler one seemed a bit more lethargic than the other.

Temps have been kept in the 70s. I have done regular water changes, and did one tonight.

Should I be worried about them?

Just thought I'd give an update. The two tads are doing better than the night I was worried. They both have darkened back up, though one is still a little pale. The pale one is active but seems kind of lethargic compared to the other one. The darker one swims all over. HE s a very active little tad. He does little rolls in the water and will sometimes pop his nose out of the water. I wouldn't call it a jump, but almost. I wonder if his activity is making him develop faster. His legs stubs are visible from the top, while the other you can only make them out from the underside or side view as of yet. They ARE an experience.

Had a few tadpoles last year and they are strange pets . I don't remember mine getting lighter and darker but they get very lethargic at times . I assumes it was stress brought on by changing into frogs . It seemed to take forever to make the complete change but well worth it .

Well, dang. I came home from work tonight to find one of the little tads dead. Looked like some fungus attacked his developing legs.

The other guy is fine. Swimming, no sign of distress or fungus on him.

On the bright side, the place I ordered them from shorted me a tadpole on my order(ordered 3, got 2) and the new one should arrive any day.

*sigh* Poor little tad.
