I don't live in their natural range, but I rescued a box turtle back in high school from someone who wasn't taking good care of it. Now I wonder where she came from...

Eastern Box turtles are one of my favorites . At the most recent animal show in my town a fella was selling babies . I past on buying one and now I really regret doing so . I hope that yours works out for you . I find them to be great pets .

Yeah, she's great. She hated me at first, but now she plucks superworms from my fingers. I named her "Tank" because she was in rough shape when I got her, but just like her namesake war machine, she just kept rollin'. Most of the signs of her poor health are gone, but she had bad shell rot on her plastron, and the little pits it made never quite went away completely.
