deli cup, packed in with moist paper towels.. packed inside a box with buble wrap or styrofoam peanuts, with a heat pack in the box, but not too close to the deli cup.. pack the packing material tight enough so the heat pack cant wiggle too close to the deli cup.

just dont use much misting on the paper towels.. they wouldnt need as much as, say a python.. but yes.. you may want to use 2 heat packs.. they are pretty fragile.

also, only mist when temps are warmer, not when it's cold. Just a little technique ive learned :) Also...dont use too much bubble wrap in warmer climates either, but it helps alot when its colder.
Another thing, dont bother with UPS or DHL, you'll get charged twice as much as with USPS, and get basically the same service. It can be just as late with those two as it can be with USPS. And supposedly neither of them allow you to ship reptiles, though there are ways around this legally, normally with much hassle. So basically I just dont tell them anything.

I would suggest telling them its a reptile so they are more careful. From experience working at UPS boxes can get handled very VERY rough.

Its your call...but if they say no, you are screwed, or you will have to go to another carrier.

If you're worried about how they handle it, put something on the box such as "Fragile Ornaments" and of course, tell them that there are breakable objects in the box. Doesnt necessarily mean it wont be tossed around still, ive had Fragile put on many boxes, and wound up with broken glass when the package arrived.

But that's just my opinion.....

ive heard good and bad things about all of those companies...so it's basically your decision. USPS is the cheapest.
Ive heard the best things about FedEx, and worst things about UPS and DHL....and a few bad things about USPS.

1. FedEx is the only major carrier with which you can become OFFICIALLY certified to ship herps. The process is fairly well outlined here: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33533 . Or, you could just do what every else does and try to sneak them through, but it is not "kosher", and you run the risk of a certain counter worker having a bad day and refusing your shipment.

2. There is an excellent guide to shipping live reptiles here: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73087 . If you are not willing to do EVERYTHING packaging-wise and $$$-wise to copy that method, do NOT ship your reptiles.

Hope these links help!
