How do you see the sex of a roach? Does it work for all the different kinds of roaches or at least the common ones used as feeders?

If you look at the ventral part of the abdomen than you will see that a male has a segment more than the female. At the end of the abdomen cockroaches have small feelers. The female has one pair (cerci), the male two (cerci and styli). The second pair aren't very big.

This is the ventral side of the abdomen of a Periplaneta americana male. The big feelers are the cerci, the small ones the styli.
