got my first orchid mantis!! very pleased! I'm sure this is a male? need a second opinion.

Can you explain? I used to have them but in the pic it looks like 6 segments? I saw some stuff saying with orchids females have 5 while males have 6 but it was controversial

Counting segments is way to hell. Problem is that while males do have more segments, overyone tend to start counting from diferent segment, coming to different results.
Better way is simply looking at the end of abdomen (underside), females do have single big terminal segment, abdomen of males ends in 2 - 3 small segments.
