My gorgeous little Avicularia geroldi moulted today. I was a little concerned as he moulted completely upright, but he got though it fine and is currently in hidey mode.

Anyway, his skin is in excellent condition, as I managed to dry it out with a cotton wool bud stuffed inside it.

I've just had a look and thought he might be a boy, however my boyfriend thinks that it might be female. We're really not sure. Can anyone else help??

Extreme close up :)

how big is it? it looks male but if its still small then it could just be that the pocket just hasn't formed yet.

I tried to reply to this earlier but it got eaten it yet another database snafu...

That is by all signs a male. It's not just that it looks like spermathecae haven't formed yet, it doesn't even look like there's anything more at the furrow than an indentation. If you take a shot of the external anatomy, it will probably show no signs of female genitalia either.

How big is it? Get power-feeding it! I've a female that's in pre-moult at the moment. She's only got seven legs
