another sexing thread. the horror!!
hi! i've had one other asian forest scorpion for a hot minute until he passed away unexpectedly. so it goes. unfortunately i'm not sure about the correct taxonomy of my scorpion- i know it's at Heterometrus, not sure of its species, apologies about that. still learning the ropes here and would appreciate a second opinion on the sex and possible advice.
i just got it from the pet store and... it's PLUMP. thicc, even. it has shown no interest in feeding; moves around a normal amount and isn't lethargic, although it does seem to be more calm/docile than my last one and hasn't tried to climb the walls or push up with its tail. as soon as i get home i'm putting it in a 10 gal with a hidey and fresh substrate; i have a red lamp and am looking to invest in one of those side heaters.
can you help me sex it? is it pre-molt (i've never dealt with molting before)? is it a female? could it be gravid??
