Sex This Mantid please

i have a H. parviceps and thought it was a male, but ive been reading and it said males have 8 segments and females have 6 or 7..i thougt it was the other way round..so can someone please tell me if this is male or female? it moulted into Adult well over a month ago and hasnt laid an Ootheca yet ... :?

I'm thinking that is a female. In adition to the segment count, the large abdomen looks typical for a female mantid, males of most species are very slender. I'm not familliar with that species however.

thanks a few other people have mentioned this good job i didnt get a reply as to my ad saying male for loan! hehe...anyone from the UK got a male for a 50:50 split?
