Seresto flea collar risks

My girlfriends dog just got a Seresto anti-flea/tick collar.
I can’t find too much info about where exactly on the dog the pesticides are effective.

From what I understand it’s systemic and forms a defensive „layer“ on the dogs skin, but the meds supposedly also travel through the hairs (at the start of the treatment at least).
So now I’m also cautious not to carry any stray hairs back home, but it seems kind of unavoidable (even though her dog doesn’t lose many hairs). I’m not worried about contaminating anything directly with my hands, since the dog isn’t at my place (and I wash my hands a lot).

Are there any real risks here? Does anybody know how exactly these collars work?

It's a piece of plastic soaked in pesticide.
This is what it says, Active Ingredients: Flumethrin 4.5%, Imidacloprid 10.0%.
These chemicals perform as advertised.
Just wash your hands and go about business.
I have three dogs who take turns stealing my spot in bed and they all get topical flea treatment during the warmer months. Most times, i do maintenance or feeding after a shower. Haven't had any issues.

Like the others have said, wash your hands if you want to be safe but in general the chemicals are in very low concentration if you are worried about stray bits of hair. We would be having an ecological crisis otherwise.

My dogs with monthly topical treatment has been in the same room as my Ts occasionally, and as pet hairs are wont to, found themselves inside some of my enclosure. However, I have not had problems so far.

Alright, thank you! That makes me feel a bit better about the situation. I’m assuming the risk of cross-contamination is quite low then.

I was actually thoroughly cleaning my phone today because I was thinking after petting the dog and touching my phone some residue may stick to the phone. Couldn't find any info on how easy the pesticides come off the dog, but I guess such a 3-way-contamination is quite unlikely when the concentrations are supposedly low.
