The jar this sling is in measures 2 inches across at its widest point.

Wow, that is amazing! Hence why that species is high on my wish list! :D Nice pictures, I'm guessing you took them so that you could show the growth--good planning! :)

I got that sling on May 27th and it did molt once before I started taking pics of it so it was originally even smaller than the June 16th pic. I'm going to try to keep taking pics of it as it grows along with recording the dates so I can show the growth rate over the course of a year or more. I also have some pics of my L. parahybana but they don't change as much as the A. genic slings and I havn't gotten around to sorting through the pics, cropping and sizing them for web viewing.

Where did you get your A. geniculata? It's got the exact same molt dates as mine :) Maybe they're from the same sac.

You guys wouldn't have happened to received those Stripe-knees from John Hoke. I got mine from Flannery at a Reptile Expo earlier this year and it is about the same size withe approx. the same molt dates.

Its still possible they could have come from the same sac...look at how many people have sling's from Tony's L. parahybana sac.

Yep, when you get several hundred to over one thousand slings at a time, each sac gets some mileage on it.

My genic hasn't actually grown any faster than the B. emilia and B. vagans I have. Perhaps I just have a slow genic... or fast Brachypelma. Who knows :)

They do grow quick and look great when they get some size on them as well.

The second two pics were taken within 24 hours of molting. The first pic the sling is extremely plump. I took the pic less than a week after it molted and had a large meal. I somehow lost or deleted the pics I took in July:? . Even without the July shot I think the shots illustrate how much they grow and change in a few months.

I like these pics very much :) I think A. geniculata is one of the best species. Mine grows very fast and eats like a pig :D
