I am a tarantula girl... a collector of old world species.... give me those and I’m good :) However, my husband got a black Asian Forest Scorpion recently; named Confucius . We got it about a month ago. The exotics pet store said it ate right before we got it. It has not eaten since and we have tried a variety of foods. It stays primarily in one spot in hiding. I know it must come out at some point at night bc I see some substrate in water fish at times. He’s in a small enclosure. Misted 1-2 times daily. About two weeks ago he started getting fat and then his black exoskeleton began to split. He was white underneath. Did some research and it said this was their molting process. However it’s been about two weeks and hasn’t done much more. The exposed inner part is now turning a darker color. Only the abdomen part is splitting, no shedding signs that I can see (again I’m not familiar with scorpions mind you) on tail or head or claws.
I’ve attached photos
PLEASE HELP.... I really don’t want my husbands new baby to pass away, he was so excited to get him!

Where is the splitting?
It doesn't look ready to moult imo.
Don't panic, scorpions take ages to shed and generally swell right up like little balloons before hand, make sure it has a hide and when it's ready it will generally push up substrate to block the entrance a bit.
We just waited 6-7 weeks for one of our scorps that blocked herself in to give birth and all we got was a moult and a dump.

Ah ok I see the splitting, give it some privacy and a dark hide, increase humidity a bit as well if you haven't done so already. Take out any feeders etc, still might be a while yet.
