scorpion fly found in VA

i found this scorpion fly in VA.. i thought id let you guys experience the wierdness of this creature. lol and before i get a hole bunch of ID posts i know what it is.. but only down to the generall name... this is sooo cool that i found him, ive bin looking for some to add to my insect collection(dead)

i collect lots of those!.
mine are black with orange and black wings.
awesome creatures!
i see yours is female..have you caught any males?
they have tails like a scorpion![without a stinger, of course]

That's a female, and yes, all females in that family have wings.

its amazing how much like a scorpion tail the male has.

i just collected the male of the spp i cought the other day lol i wasnt paying attention on how i was holding it and apperently that tail has pinchers on it lol i almost let him go out of shock, i will get a pick on later after i find my camera...
