Evening all!

After having her for a few months, I’ve come to realise my Javanimetrus Cyaneus is a particularly fussy eater! She has taken the occasional locust but admittedly, I find them tricky to keep given the high temperature requirements and low humidity. Unfortunately after a few weeks of keeping them, they start dying off! Have tried crickets and dubia roaches but neither of interest to her!

Does anyone have advice on feeding her fruit beetle grubs? She seems to absolutely love these but I know they’re particularly high in fat content so do not want her becoming a fatty!

If she only eats beetle grubs , then for the moment that’s going to have to work. Eventually, she’ll probably eat something else.

Also keep in mind that adult scorpions in the Scorpionidae family can go quite a long time without food. When she's hungry enough, I'm sure she will take whatever's available. The longest I have personally experienced was a Gigantometrus swammerdami male that refused food for a full year, after which he started eating again, never having any ill effects as a result of this. Not saying you want them to refuse this long, just easing your mind that you don't have to stress immediately if she doesn't eat for a few weeks.

This.

As long as it isn't paper thin I stand by the mentality that when they're hungry enough they will eat. It's not like in the wild they can afford to be finicky.
