I've seen the names Largeclawed scorpion and Israeli Gold Scorpion. Only the first name fits for the Scorpio m.f., though it also fits the Scorpio maurus plamatus...

When I had them they were sold to me as "Barbary Coast Scorpion". The Barbary Coast is in northern Africa along the southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

I know they are subspecies. I'm looking for a name to put down on my website, so it's not that important, but I'd like to have the most accurate and common name. :)

I never haerd them being called that, and a google search for "barbary coast scorpion" found nothing, so my guess is that that's not thier common name.
:rolleyes: ;)

The one I have was found less than an hour away from my home. ;P ;)

Well, catch a bunch and ship them to me! :}

I'm not trying to come up with a new name for the scorpion, just find out what the common name is... ;)

Thanks for your help!

The most common 'common name' for the yellowish color variant you find in Israel is 'Israeli Gold' Scorpion. As always there are other variants. This common name is for the most common variety found in the hobby.

Michael, will you be bringing any of your specimins to the ATS next month?...assuming you have any left..
