Savannah monitor lizard baby need info

I have a baby Savannah monitor lizards bought it from a friend which they didn’t handle it as much is there any tips I can do to get it to trust me I already put my hand in tank it was close to my hand to lick it a couple times then I took my hand out I’m fairly new any suggestions don’t wanna push anything or get bit…

I've never kept one, but from a snake keepers perspective, I would say start with short interactions here and there. Over time, you can gradually increase the length of your handling sessions, etc. until you feel its gotten used to you

i would join a monitor lizard forum and learn all i could about their care and needs they are powerful predator with a strong bite once grown/they do tame really well the once i have seen and handled but watching them tear apart a prekilled rat during feeding gives a good idea of the damage they can dish out onto anything they chose to bite in defense etc.
