cool boas bry, The hog islands boas are the nicest looking BCI's I think. What kind of box is that your one boa is in ?? Looks like a rat Maze.

Sam, that's actually a box that my modem came in. I was handling him, and he shot straight for the box. I got the first female from a show a few years ago, and the male came from a reptile shop in Rochester, NY when I lived up there. The second female I got in a trade for an old cage of mine. I believe the guy got it from a reptile shop in Atlanta.

I really need to get a Boa, First I need to get one of those vision cages so I can keep up the humidity in there, my ball pythons are in one those screen top cages and man is it hard to keep the humidity up in there. There is a reptile show this month here in Az but I don't know when, I'll Probably get a boa and a vision cage at that show,

Bry, where do you keep your boas in ?? can you post a pic of the enclosure ??

Actually, from my experience, Vision cages suck as far as holding in the humidity. The large vents in the back suck up all the humidity. I keep my male in a Boaphile cage, which is great for humidity. Also, I think the black plastic helps with their mental well-being as the darkness gives them a greater sense of security. The only thing that kind of sucks is that it's hard to see your snake in a dark cage when they're way in the back. I have my two females in a homemade wooden cage. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of either cage. Vision cages and Boaphiles are rather pricey. A more affordable quality cage to look at would be Precision caging. I use one for my gray ratsnake, and it works great. I added a few links for you to check out.

Precision Caging

Also, you could just cover up like 70-80% of the screen top with plastic wrap or plexiglass. That works pretty well for me.

cool, I think I'm gonna go with the Precision Caging one, if I see one at the next reptile show in Oct. 4-5 I'll get one of those. Now I'm not saying that I will get a boa, But if I decide to get one because of price or whatever what kind of Boa do I get ??

Sam, I'm not sure if Precision will be at the show in Arizona. I believe they operate somewhere out of the southeastern US. You can always have it shipped out to you, though. If you do get a boa, I will tell you the same thing I did before. I recommend a BCI, like a Colombian or a Hog Island. They both don't get as big as BCC, and they're easier to care for. BCIs are also not as prone to regurgitation problems as BCCs. BCCs also tend to be more temperamental. You could always get BCCs later. It's just a good idea to start with something easier to care for. It's for the same reason you shouldn't get a Pokie for your first T.

true, true, well if I see a hog at the show with a good price and with a nice color it also has to be under 3 feet I'll bring him or her home. Btw how much should a Hog cost while being 3 feet or smaller just to get a figure.

Well, coloration has a lot to do with the price of a hog. A higher amount of speckles usually denotes a lower price. The "cleaner" (less speckles) hogs are more highly sought after. Personally, I don't mind hogs with a high number of speckles. Since most people prefer cleaner hogs, you'll find a lot of pretty clean ones for around $90-120. I got my larger female for $125.

90-120 dollars I can hadle that ;) then with my talking skills I bet I'll get them down to 75-110 ;) I thats the case I'm 95% sure I'll come home with a Boa ;) Now I can't wait to go to that show.
